Certest Biotec is one of the fastest-growing biotechnology companies in Europe, headquartered in the Río Gállego II industrial estate in Zaragoza. In recent years it has undergone a deep industrial transformation: new buildings, new factory lines and new research centres. To showcase this growth and make its facilities accessible to international clients, partners and investors, Certest has developed the virtual twin of its biotechnology plant: an interactive 3D model that lets you tour the 25,000 square metres of facilities from anywhere in the world, with no travel and no access restrictions.

01 The challenge

Bringing a biotechnology plant to the world.

Certest, in the midst of its European growth phase, faced a challenge shared by many expanding industrial companies: how to show international clients, partners and investors the size, complexity and quality of its facilities without depending on the physical visit. A biotechnology plant also adds specific biosecurity, confidentiality and controlled-access restrictions, which multiply the operational friction of every sales visit. The challenge was to design a digital tool that would allow the plant to be toured in detail from any device, showcase the company's years of transformation and reduce the commercial cost of every visit without losing the demonstrative power of the industrial product.

02 The solution

Showing the plant interactively without depending on the physical visit.

The solution is the virtual twin of all of Certest's facilities, an interactive 3D model that recreates in detail the nine buildings, the industrial lines, the laboratories and the complementary facilities of the headquarters. The tour is navigated like an interactive infographic with points of interest that explain the specific processes, areas and capabilities of each space, making it the visual reference piece for sales presentations, partner meetings and corporate showcases. Its strategic value doesn't end with the modelling: the information and data are managed through a customised CMS that allows them to be updated in real time, so the twin evolves with the company itself and incorporates each new line, building or capability without redoing the model.
