To celebrate its tenth anniversary by innovating in glaucoma, Santen, a leading ophthalmology company, wanted a commemorative day with a unique format: not only celebrating achievements, but offering a memorable and interactive format. In a medical-scientific environment where rigor is non-negotiable, the challenge was to facilitate agile access to complex information without losing precision at any moment. Thus Shin was born, an avatar with artificial intelligence and a human appearance that became the image and voice of the event, moderating, dynamizing, and conversing with speakers and attendees throughout the day.
Innovate without losing medical rigor
Medical-scientific events face a difficult double requirement to reconcile. On the one hand, they must be memorable and participatory, moving away from the classic format of passive presentations that hardly involve the attendee. On the other hand, they operate in a field where any inaccuracy is unacceptable: the information must be accurate, contrasted, and consistent from beginning to end. Santen needed a day that celebrated a decade of innovation in glaucoma with a disruptive format, but without compromising the scientific rigor in the slightest. The challenge was to introduce a surprising technology that, in addition, deserved the trust of an expert audience.
