An Annual General Meeting for 600,000 global shareholders.
Iberdrola faced a challenge typical of large listed corporations: how to extend participation in its Annual General Meeting beyond the physical capacity of a room and the geographical limits of the headquarters. In a company with more than 600,000 shareholders spread across the world, the traditional model —in-person meeting for the main shareholders and minutes sent to the rest— was limiting in terms of involvement, transparency and experience. The challenge was to design a pioneering format that would bring the maximum number of shareholders together in a single gathering, maintaining the institutional rigour of the Meeting and adding a new level of immersion and participation.
