Artificial Intelligence for industrial onboarding: the case of NAIMA

The digital transformation is no longer an option in industrial companies: it is a necessity. In this context, thertificial Intelligence is becoming a key tool for optimizing internal processes., especially in critical areas such as onboarding, training and professional development.

Incorporating new workers into complex industrial environments poses multiple challenges: language barriers, cultural diversity, demanding technical protocols, need for rapid adaptation y regulatory compliance. Traditionally, these processes have required a high investment in human resources, time and training materials, without always guaranteeing a homogeneous or personalized experience. Generative AI changes this paradigm.

Thanks to intelligent conversational assistants, In this way, it is possible to offer continuous, accessible and personalized training, adapted to the language, profile and pace of each employee. These systems not only resolve doubts in real time, but also accompany, guide and evaluate the learning process, improving integration and reducing friction in the first months of incorporation.

An outstanding example of this application of AI tutors at the industrial level is NAIMA, a solution developed to facilitate onboarding and training in industrial environments. A conversational assistant with 3D avatar, multilingual support and automated training functionalities.

The NAIMA project demonstrates how AI can move from being an emerging technology to becoming a real operational tool within the enterprise.

IA assistants and tutors in the enterprise: what are they and what are their benefits?

When we talk about AI assistants or tutors in corporate environments, we are referring to advanced conversational systems, based on generative artificial intelligence, capable of interacting naturally with employees by voice or text, offering training, technical and operational support.

These are not just traditional chatbots with predefined answers. We are talking about solutions that:

  • They understand the user's context and profile.
  • They adapt the information to the worker's level of knowledge.
  • They integrate structured training contents.
  • They evaluate learning through quizzes or interactive dynamics.
  • They work in both online and offline environments.

Key benefits of AI tutors for companies

  1. More agile and scalable onboarding: They allow multiple workers to be accompanied simultaneously, reducing the burden on the training team and ensuring consistency in the message.
  2. Personalized and continuous training: Each employee can learn at his or her own pace, consult doubts at any time and reinforce specific content according to his or her needs.
  3. Reduction of language and cultural barriers: Multilingual support facilitates the integration of international profiles, which is particularly relevant in globalized industrial sectors.
  4. 24/7 availability and operational support: IA assistants can act as a point of permanent consultation on procedures, safety or internal protocols.
  5. Measurement and improvement of learning: The integration of automated evaluations allows validating knowledge and detecting areas for improvement.

NAIMA: a real case of AI applied to the industrial environment

Within this context, the project NAIMA represents a case of success in the practical application of AI to onboarding and professional training in industrial environments. It is an initiative collaboratively driven by Tecnara, ALIA, EdTech, Imascono and Rivasam and financed by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism dwithin the AEI support program, aimed at contributing to improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. The subsidy granted for the project is for a total budget of 237,878 €.

NAIMA is a multilingual, accessible, generative AI-based conversational solution specifically designed to train, guide and accompany workers in their incorporation into industrial environments.

Project objectives

The development of NAIMA pursues very clear strategic objectives:

  • Facilitate onboarding and accessible training in the main languages of employees.
  • Reduce cultural barriers and improve integration.
  • Provide technical, training and operational support adapted to the industrial environment.
  • Validate the solution in real use cases through web and physical demonstrators.

In short, NAIMA is not just a conversational assistant: it is a digital tutor designed to accompany the employee from day one, improving their experience, accelerating their integration and ensuring more effective and homogeneous training..
